In order to respond to your inquiry or to help you with a problem with a federal agency, our office may need to collect some of your information. If you need help with a federal agency, staff members may need to share your information with the relevant agency to help in your request. If this is the case, our office will first ask that you fill out a privacy release form and staff will share only what information is needed to complete your request. Other than to fulfill your casework request, or in the course of an emergency posing an imminent risk to public safety or an authorized law enforcement investigation, none of the information you provide will be shared with any outside organization or individual.

In addition to responding to constituent emails whenever possible, our staff also compiles comments received through the website to learn about constituents’ concerns. On occasion, our staff may find that a comment made makes an important point on public policy. If we find such a comment and wish to repeat it for a speech, debate, or otherwise, a staff member will first make every attempt to contact the author to seek permission. If you would prefer that your comment be kept private, please include this in your correspondence and our office will keep the message strictly confidential.
