NEWARK, N.J. – US Senator Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) issued the following statement on the 11th anniversary since FBI agent Robert Levinson was detained in Iran, making him the longest held civilian in our nation’s history.

“On the 11th Anniversary of Bob Levinson’s disappearance, I once again call on the government of Iran to immediately release Bob and bring him back home to his family. There is no question that Tehran knows exactly what happened and where Bob is, and they should know that we will never stop until he is back in the United States where he belongs.

“I continue to stand today and always with Bob’s family, including his daughters Sarah and Samantha, who live New Jersey, and his youngest son who works in my DC office. We will never forget about Bob.”

Menendez has been a leading voice in Congress to bring Mr. Levinson home, urging the Trump Administration to continue previous efforts to locate Mr. Levinson, asking the President to meet with the Levinson family and designate a senior White House official to provide them regular updates on the administration’s efforts.
