WASHINGTON, D.C.-U.S. Senators Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ) and Robert Menendez (D-NJ) today announced that fire departments in Mount Laurel and Ocean Township will receive federal grants totaling $104,607. The funding is awarded through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Assistance to FirefightersGrant(AFG)program.
"These federal grants will helpfirefighters in Mount Laurel and OceanTownship accesstheresources they needto keep local neighborhoods safe,"said Sen. Lautenberg, a member of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security, which fund the AFG program."Investments like these ensure that our first responders can answer the call swiftly and safely, and we'll keep working so they have what they need to protect the public."
