WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Bob Menendez and Cory Booker today announced a combined $13,760,173.57 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to boost New Jersey’s response efforts to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“This is critical funding to ensure our state and health care providers can continue responding to the pandemic and keep up with the demand for tests and vaccines,” said Sen. Menendez. “We’ll need continued federal funding and resources as the pandemic rages on and I’ll fight to make sure New Jersey receives its fair share.”
"As New Jersey continues to battle the coronavirus pandemic, it is essential that our state receives the federal funding required to effectively respond to this crisis," said Sen. Booker. "This funding will help ensure that New Jersey’s frontline workers have the critical resources necessary to protect the health and well-being of our state's residents."
The funding allocation is below:
· $5,841,540 – New Jersey State Police
Funding can be used to
help the State Police’s emergency response and pandemic recovery efforts
including assisting with testing and contract tracing, supporting hospitals in

senators announced $216 million to support the State Police’s vaccine
distribution efforts.

Meridian’s pandemic response.

Corrections (NJDOC)
This funding will allow
the agency to continue providing weekly COVID-19 testing to staff, parole
officers, civilian staff and residents across all NJDOC facilities.
· $1,785,536.01 – Kennedy Health System
This grant reimburses the Kennedy Health for the purchase and distribution of personal protective equipment from January to July of last year.
