NEWARK, NJ – U.S. Senators Bob Menendez and Cory Booker today announced Newark Liberty International Airport will receive a total of $4,745,181 in federal grants from the Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to complete both the construction of additional aircraft parking and the rehabilitation of the airport’s access road bridges.

"This funding will help ensure Newark Liberty has the resources it needs to make important repairs and updates so that it can run efficiently and provide travelers with the quality service they deserve," said Sen. Menendez. "Our airports are important drivers of our local economy and with this investment we are helping ensure New Jersey remains competitive."

Booker. “Investing in infrastructure improvements for this vital transportation hub will improve passenger safety, create jobs, and expand economic opportunities”

$3,278,490 – To fund the final phase on construction of a 260,000 square yard apron to provide additional aircraft parking

$1,466,691 – To complete the rehabilitation of the airport’s access road bridges
