NEWARK, NJ – U.S. Senators Bob Menendez and Cory Booker today announced eight community health centers in New Jersey have been awarded a total of more than $3 million in Affordable Care Act funding to expand access to comprehensive health care services for thousands of families.

"Investing in our community health centers is exactly the kind of investment - in access to care, job creation and the overall quality of life in our communities - we need to make and will pay returns too great to measure," Sen. Menendez said. "Today’s investment – made possible because of the Affordable Care Act -- will help us continue to expand access to quality, comprehensive health care services for thousands of lower income New Jerseyans who need them."

“I have been strongly engaged in advocating for additional community health centers here in New Jersey and I am pleased to have found a willing partner in HHS,” said Sen. Booker. “This designation is significant because it guarantees funding for these centers on a recurring basis for years to come. This award will bolster the healthcare safety net here in our state and help ensure accessible and affordable healthcare for all our residents.”
