WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Bob Menendez and Cory Booker today announced New Jersey is receiving $230,342,420 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to boost its COVID-19 response and vaccine distribution efforts.

“This funding is critical to ensuring the State’s ability to respond to the pandemic and administer vaccinations to millions of residents,” said Sen. Menendez. “I will continue fighting for the federal resources New Jersey needs to combat COVID-19, protect our residents, and help our state get through the pandemic and return to normal as quickly as possible.”

“Our state and our nation continues to face rising COVID-19 cases, making it essential that New Jersey receives the necessary federal resources to effectively respond to this crisis,” said Sen. Booker. “This federal funding is critical to ensuring our state can distribute the vaccine efficiently in order to protect the health and safety of all New Jerseyans.”

The New Jersey State Police has been awarded $216 million to assist in vaccine distribution across the state. The State Police is managing six vaccination mega sites across New Jersey, in addition to dozens of hospitals, pharmacies and community-based vaccinated sites run by counties with state oversight. This funding can be used to cover the costs of distributing and administering the vaccine, transportation and personal protective equipment.

Another $14,342,420.42 has been awarded to the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management to reimburse for costs incurred since the start of the pandemic last March.
