WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Senator Robert Menendez, Chairman of the Senate Subcommittee on Housing, Transportation and Community Development today announced more than $3 million in additional community and economic development funds for 26 communities across New Jersey. The Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development's Community Development Block Grant provides local communities with flexible funds to rebuild and revitalize low and moderate income neighborhoods, provide affordable housing and expand economic opportunities.
"As a former Mayor, I recognize how important it is to provide local communities with flexible resources to address a full range of community and economic development needs," said Sen. Menendez. "That's why I'm especially pleased to announce this investment in creating jobs, rebuilding neighborhoods and expanding economic growth in communities across our state."
