Washington - Today, General David Petraeus, U.S. Central Command; Karl Eikenberry, American Ambassador to Afghanistan; and Deputy Secretary of State Jacob Lew appeared before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee to answer questions on the Obama administration's new Afghanistan strategy.

U.S. Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ), a member of the Foreign Relations Committee, asked General Petraeus about the realistic length and cost of the U.S. commitment in Afghanistan, in light of Afghanistan President Karzai's recent statement about requiring U.S. involvement for another 15 or 20 years. Menendez also asked Deputy Secretary Lew about the effectiveness of social development funding in Afghanistan. The video is available here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKHQvK2853Y
