The legislation, called The BEACH Act, would reauthorize an annual $30 million federal grant program for the next four years to monitor beach quality and notify the public of any health hazards, a statement from Menendez's office said.
"The BEACH Act allows families to come to the beach with the peace of mind knowing that the water is safe for them and their children to swim and play," he said.
