Newark - The offices of U.S. Senator Robert Menendez showed their support for veterans Thursday by wearing jeans in lieu of regular office attire, as part of the GI Go Fund's "Jeans for Troops" Drive. Over 300 companies, schools, and government agencies took part in the event, which for a $5 donation to the GI Go Fund allowed employees to wear jeans to work. This money will go towards assisting veterans in finding employment, medical care, and other common difficulties for returning veterans. Members of the Senator's Newark and Barrington office proudly show their support for America's troops returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan.

"Great job New Jersey for backing such an important organization," said Senator Menendez. "The fact that over 300 groups participated in the "Jeans for Troops" Drive sends a clear signal to our veterans that we haven't forgotten about them, and we haven't stopped appreciating them. This is especially meaningful as we approach Memorial Day, a time to honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in our nation's armed forces. I'm proud of my staff, and all participating New Jerseyans, for showing they care."

The GI Go Fund is a nonprofit charitable organization that provides transition assistance to all military veterans, with a focus on veterans from the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts, by preparing veterans for the twenty- first century economy, securing educational and health benefits, and providing aid and assistance to low income and homeless veterans.
