Sens. Menendez, Booker Announce More Than $157K for Ventnor, Hillsborough, Neptune Fire Departments

NEWARK, NJ - U.S. Senators Robert Menendez and Cory Booker (both D-NJ) today announced federal grant awards totaling $157,950 for the Ventnor Fire Department, Hillsborough Rescue Squad and Borough of Neptune through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program.

"Ensuring that New Jersey's brave firefighters have access to the best training and equipment available is a top priority. That's why this federal funding is such an important investment," said Sen. Menendez. "Our firefighters deserve nothing less than our best efforts to help them respond safely and effectively when emergencies erupt. That is why I remain committed to fighting for this program on behalf of those who protect our communities every single day."

"Our emergency responders have our back and we need to have theirs," said Sen. Booker. "These grant awards to Ventnor City, Hillsborough and Neptune City are a reflection of that sacred promise. I will continue to fight for money to make sure that our first responders have everything they need to do their jobs safely and effectively."

  • $42,750 to the Ventnor Fire Department for the purchase of new Thermal Imaging Cameras
  • $55,350 to the Hillsborough Rescue Squad for a new Vehicle Exhaust Capture System
