Washington - US Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) today released the following statement calling for a careful and expeditious review by the Department of Justice Anti-Trust Division and the Federal Communications Commission to ensure the merger is in the public interest.

"I urge a careful and timely review of the AT&T and T-mobile USA transaction by the Department of Justice Anti-trust Division and the Federal Communications Commission. This review should ensure that the proposed merger is in the public interest and fulfills the objectives proposed by both parties, including union representation of non-management employees and increased services and broadband coverage for American families, businesses, and government institutions. I believe this review is critical to determine both the economic impact and the potential benefits of this transaction to consumers, workers and retirees."
