WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ), issued the following statement in reaction to Deputy Assistant Administrator for Insurance, Brad Kieserman’s notice to his office that agreement on the language in the Settlement Agreement and General Release Form was reached which provides information on the settlement conditions, sets forth the respective rights and obligations of the parties, and supports the final resolution of the dispute.

“While long overdue, I’m pleased that FEMA has taken another step to right their wrongs and provide Sandy victims the money they’ve been entitled to. I’m glad the long road these homeowners have been on will finally lead to some measure of justice, but there are still thousands of New Jerseyans who were potentially lowballed but never went to court. That’s why I got FEMA to commit to review all questionable claims, not just those in litigation, and why I won’t back off until every New Jerseyan gets what they deserve.”
