Menendez Statement on Camden Mayor Dana Redd Not Seeking a Third Term

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Bob Menendez issued the following statement on Camden Mayor Dana Redd’s decision not to run for a third term:

"No mayor in the country has worked harder in the last seven years to turn her city around than Dana Redd.  Thanks to her vision, leadership and determination, Camden is rising.  Working together, we have been able to secure unprecedented federal investments in Camden to revitalize the Branch Village neighborhood, hire new firefighters and police officers, rebuild roads and bike trails, and bring new jobs and economic opportunity for the city’s residents.  Every time I visit the city, I see all of the construction and the direct impact these investments have made to move Camden forward.

“I thank my friend, Mayor Redd, for her dedicated service to her community and all her work to transform Camden once again into one of New Jersey's premier cities.  I look forward to even more big things on the horizon and continuing to create new opportunities in the City of Camden."
