WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Bob Menendez (D-N.J.), released the below statement after the Senate Judiciary Committee heard testimony from dr. Christine Blasey Ford and Judge Brett Kavanaugh. Earlier today, Menendez tweeted his reaction to Ford’s testimony, a criticism of the Republicans refusing to ask Ford any questions, and a resource for survivors who may feel triggered by the news.

“I have two takeaways from today’s hearings. First, I am more confident than ever that Brett Kavanaugh is not fit to serve on the Supreme Court. Second, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford is not only to be believed, but as my friend Cory Booker said, she is a hero.

“The American people deserve to know the facts, and that means a full and thorough FBI investigation of every single allegation against Brett Kavanaugh. For Republican leaders to call a vote without that investigation, and within 24 hours of a heart-wrenching moment for our nation, says everything about who they believe matters.”
