Menendez Joins In Celebration Of Holi Holiday

To all celebrating the festival of colors - “Holi Hai”

Washington - U.S. Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) wishes all New Jerseyans of Indian descent a wonderful Holi holiday. This ancient Indian Hindu festival, also called the festival of colors, is celebrated with great zeal and fervor. Holi was originally observed in India and a few other countries, but is now celebrated around the world. Since the two-day holiday usually falls in late February, or early March, it is also known as the Spring Festival.

"I wish everyone celebrating Holi a wonderful holiday. It is very fitting that this year, on the first day of Holi, we are enjoying some incredible spring weather in New Jersey,"said Menendez. "The multiday festival of Holi is meant to bring people together and I believe that it's important, especially in a diverse state like New Jersey, for all of us to make time to learn and celebrate the cultures of our friends and neighbors. The colors of Holi are brightest when we all come together to observe this magnificent festival and tradition," Menendez added.
