Menendez: JCFD Stood Up When the Towers Fell; Today We Stand Up for Them


JERSEY CITY, NJ – U.S. Senator Bob Menendez today visited a firehouse in Jersey City to meet with first responders ahead of the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks, and to announce an $8.4 million federal Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grant to hire 16 more firefighters and retain another 45.  He was joined by U.S. Senator Cory Booker and Jersey City Mayor Steven M. Fulop.  The Jersey City Fire Department was among the first to respond to the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001.
