Washington - Today, U.S. Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) hailed the final passage of the Energy and Water Appropriations bill, which authorizes more than $159 million in funding for beach replenishment, flood control, energy and infrastructure projects. After House and Senate passage, the bill awaits the President's signature.

"This substantial investment is critical to protecting and supporting our state's economy while safeguarding lives and property in our state," said Senator Menendez. "Nourishing our state's beaches helps protect shore communities, which are home to thousands of families and which help drive the New Jersey economy. Families in our state are all too aware of the dangers that flooding poses to our safety and our property, which is why we are investing in projects to lower that risk. Funding for crucial infrastructure projects helps create jobs and ensures that our state remains competitive in the new economy . I am proud to have helped secure this important funding."
