Washington - U.S. Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ), a member of the Senate Banking Committee, had words of praise today for the Dodd-Frank financial reform law on its first anniversary. He released the following statement:

"One year later it is important to remember why we enacted Wall Street reform in the first place. We enacted it because a lack of rules and oversight led to Wall Street taking most of the world from a time of prosperity to the brink of another Great Depression. Only now are we rebuilding the kind of financial system that made our banking sector the envy of the world for decades," said Menendez. "I stood with Main Street one year ago and I am proud to do so today."
