WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ) today congratulates Princeton’s women’s basketball team on their 30-0 regular season that ended last night with a 55-42 win against the University of Pennsylvania.

“The Tigers proved last night that perfection is possible and their athletic accomplishments are a slam dunk and worthy of high praise,” said Sen. Menendez. “During Women’s History Month, these New Jersey women achieved an historic accomplishment and I look forward to rooting for them in the NCAA tournament.”

The Tigers and the Kentucky men’s team are the only undefeated NCAA Division I basketball teams in the country. Princeton is now headed to their fifth NCAA appearance in six seasons and its tournament seeding and match-up information will be announced on Monday. The Tigers earned the highest-ever national ranking for an Ivy program.
