Menendez, Booker Announce Over $5 Million for Upgrades to New Jersey Airports

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senators Bob Menendez and Cory Booker (both D-NJ) today announced $5,597,000 in Department of Transportation (DOT) grants to make improvements at New Jersey airports.

“Essential federal investments in infrastructure drive economic growth,” said Sen. Menendez. “I will always fight to make sure New Jersey’s airports receive the funding they need to stay competitive. ”

"Keeping our local airports running smoothly is critical for the businesses and travelers who rely on them each and every day,” said Sen. Booker.  "Federal funding like this for our region’s infrastructure serves as a gateway to job creation and most importantly helps sustain the safety New Jerseyans expect, which is our number one priority.”

DOT awarded:

  • $3,467,000 to the Delaware River and Bay Authority for taxiway extension and runway rehabilitation.
  • $1,200,000 to the Town of Morristown for taxiway and taxiway lighting rehabilitation.
  • $930,000 to Ocean County for runway lighting rehabilitation.
