NEWARK, NJ – U.S. Senators Bob Menendez and Cory Booker (both D-NJ) today announced Morristown Municipal Airport will receive a $ 3,314,685 federal grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation to restore a dilapidated runway and improve one of the runway safety areas.

“We must always be modernizing our aging infrastructure in order to keep New Jerseyans safe,” said Sen. Menendez. “This grant will allow Morristown Municipal Airport to make necessary improvements and I always encourage robust federal investments that help keep our airports and all transportation systems up-to-date.”

“These federal funds will enable much-needed upgrades to the Morristown Municipal Airport, making a vital investment to grow the regional economy and improve safety for local residents and visitors,” said Sen. Booker. “I look forward to continuing to work with the Department of Transportation to secure investments that will address the needs of aging infrastructure across our state.”
