Menendez, Booker Announce Funding for Airport Upgrades

$2.4M for Millville and Woodbine Municipal Airports

NEWARK, NJ -- U.S. Senators Bob Menendez and Cory Booker today announced $2.4 million in Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) grants for improvements at two New Jersey airports.

“Modernizing New Jersey’s airports is vital to our economy and the safety of air travelers,” said Sen. Menendez. “These essential investments will provide necessary upgrades to infrastructure and improve the experience for New Jerseyans when they travel.”

"Federal investments in modernizing our local airports are not only critical to maintaining the safety of the traveling public, but also to increasing New Jersey’s economic competitiveness,” said Sen. Booker.  "Taking concrete steps like this to repair New Jersey’s crumbling infrastructure bolsters our economy, creates good jobs and keeps our region moving forward.” 

The FAA awarded:

Millville Municipal Airport -- $2,341,458 to complete the restoration of more than 2,500 feet of taxiway.

Woodbine Municipal Airport - $57,000 to fund the design and reconstruction of 1,000 feet of taxiway pavement.
