WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senators Bob Menendez and Cory Booker (both D-NJ) today announced the awarding of a $2,473,024.95 federal Sandy relief grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to the Bayshore Regional Sewerage Authority to repair a building damaged by Superstorm Sandy.

"Repairing our infrastructure to ensure our drinking water is safe and our wastewater treatment plants are operating efficiently is absolutely critical," said Sen. Menendez. "Grant awards, like this one, help keep our state on its path to full recovery from Superstorm Sandy.”

"It is vital that we prioritize investments in New Jersey’s aging sewage and water infrastructure,” said Sen. Booker. “I am committed to advocating for more funding like this grant which is not only important to the sustainability of our water ecosystems, but also essential to proactively ensuring that our wastewater plants are capable of withstanding future storms.”
