Newark - U.S. Senators Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ) and Robert Menendez (D-NJ) today announcedthe North Hudson Regional Fire Department has received$197,200infederal funding through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program. Eligible uses of this grant funding include investments in training, equipment, and health programs.

"In emergency situations, New Jersey's firefighters must be ready for anything. This funding will help ensure that local firefighters are prepared for any dangers they may face,"said Senator Lautenberg, Vice Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security, which funds the AFG program."Keeping New Jersey's families safe and secure is our first priority, and grants likethis will help our first responders receive the best equipment and training available."
