Menendez questions Julian Castro at Senate Hearing

WASHINGTON, DC - During questioning at a Senate Banking Committee hearing with San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro, nominee to be Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Senator Robert Menendez received commitment that if confirmed, the new Secretary would tour New Jersey to see firsthand the work that's left to be done to make a full recovery from Superstorm Sandy. Menendez also said he was pleased the department had reversed its ill-conceived proposal to divert up to $2 billion in disaster funding from the region and would also set aside $180 million beyond the third tranche of funds solely for the New Jersey/New York region.
