WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Robert Menendez, Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, today released the following statement on the State Department's Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement regarding the Keystone XL Pipeline:

"Today's release of State Department's Draft Supplemental EIS begins a conversation with all interested parties and provides the opportunity for the public to review the analysis and offer their input. I encourage the State Department to weigh the environmental impacts and the economic benefits of the Keystone XL pipeline to determine whether the project is in our national interest. As Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, I look forward to monitoring this process closely."
