Wall Township, NJ - US Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) today visited Trinity Solar of Wall Township, the leading installer of solar electric systems in New Jersey, to tour their facility, address employees, and answer questions. Senator Menendez is the author of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant program which provided New Jersey with approximately $75 million to invest in energy conservation and renewable energy sources, such as solar energy.

Monmouth County received $4.2 million from the program, funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, part of which helped to fund solar photovoltaic installation at three Monmouth County park facilities. Recently, Senator Menendez authored the Repeal Big Oil Tax Subsidies Act, which would repeal tax loopholes for the five largest oil companies and put the savings towards reducing the deficit and extending expiring tax credits for clean energy programs.

"Investing clean energy sources, such as solar energy, is important for our environment, our economy, and our competitiveness." said Senator Menendez. "Businesses like Trinity Solar are leading the way in New Jersey and serve as a model on how investing in clean energy initiatives can turn a profit and help create jobs. We need more businesses like Trinity Solar."
