Menendez, Booker Announce $18M for Bergen, Burlington, Hudson, Morris Head Start Programs

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senators Bob Menendez and Cory Booker today announced the awarding of $18,848,028 to support early childhood education programs in Bergen, Burlington, Hudson, and Morris Counties from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) through Head Start.

“Quality early education and development programs are the best investments we can make for our children,” said Senator Menendez. “This funding will ensure that our children will have the necessary care and resources to be successful.”

The following organizations received funding:

  • Greater Bergen Community Action, Inc.: $5,503,645
  • Burlington County Community Action Program: $5,738,220
  • North Hudson Community Action Corporation: $5,203,528
  • Morris County Community Action Program: $2,402,635

Greater Bergen Community Action helps provide meals, healthcare, and education to children and families in need. 

Burlington County Community Action Program is dedicated to ensuring children develop in a healthy setting, facilitating high-quality early learning programs and in-home parent coaching.

North Hudson Community Action Corporation provides a range of individualized services in the areas of education, medical, dental, mental health, nutrition, and social services to children and their families. 

The Morris County Community Action Program runs school readiness programs, from prenatal through kindergarten ages, for the community’s most vulnerable children.
