  • Jersey Cares Day (Prudential Center in Newark, NJ)

    Senator Menendez attended the 13th annual Jersey Cares Day's post work day celebration at the Prudential Center in Newark. Jersey Cares Day brings together thousands of people from Newark, Jersey City, Edison, Plainfield, Pottersville and Trenton to provide community services like painting murals in classrooms, planting gardens outside schools, beautifying parks, painting lines for various outdoor games, organizing libraries, and directing nutrition and financial literacy workshops.

  • Second Annual Women of Distinction Awards (Edison, NJ)

    Senator Menendez held the Second Annual Women of Distinction Awards in honor of Women’s History Month. Seven pioneering women were recipients of the “Evangelina Menendez Trailblazer Award,” named in honor of the Senator’s late mother. More than 375 people were in attendance at the Middlesex County College Performing Arts Center to see the awards handed out.

  • Ribbon Cutting Ceremony For a New Community Health Office (Camden City, NJ)

    On the one year anniversary of health care reform, U.S. Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) was in Camden to celebrate the big health care wins for New Jersey families, seniors and small businesses. Menendez trumpeted the new efforts to hold insurance companies accountable, bring down costs for everyone, and provide New Jersey families with the insurance choices and protections they need to take control of their health.

  • Delivering Clean Water to Lower Township (Cape May, NJ)

    Senator Menendez heads to Lower Township in Cape May to attend and offer remarks at a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of new water lines which will bring access to public potable water service to 7,600 residents who currently rely on private wells. The $10.8 million dollar federal investment came through the USDA Rural Development program and the Senator fought to clarify changes of “rural definition” so that Townships like Lower could be eligible for USDA infrastructure assistance.

  • Celebrating Black History Month (Somerset, NJ)

    On Sunday February 27, Senator Menendez (D-NJ) was at First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens to celebrate Black History month and to salute black New Jerseyans. The event, whose theme was “Standing on the Shoulders of Giants,” was attended by over 500 people. Among those present were Dr. Randall Pinkett, Rutgers basketball coach Vivian Stringer, and the members of the New Jersey Legislative Black Caucus, led by Chairman Ron Rice.

  • Read Across America (Montclair, NJ)

    Senator Menendez reads “House Mouse Senate Mouse” a book that explains how Congress works to fourth-graders at Montclair Charles H. Bullock Elementary School during Read Across America, a yearly event that encourages students to read.
