  • Menendez Secures Funds for Beach Replenishment (Monmouth Beach)

    Senator Menendez and Representative Frank J. Pallone Jr. were in front of The Shores Condominiums to hold a press conference announcing $7.5 million in federal funds secured for a badly needed beach replenishment initiative in Monmouth Beach. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said the project should begin in November and be completed around March 2012, in time for for next summer's rush. The thinning beachfront will be expanded about 100 feet from where the current water line is.

  • Menendez Reaffirms Support for ERA (Washington, DC)

    Senator Menendez and Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) reintroduced the Equal Rights Amendment at an event just outside the Capitol. “Women have made tremendous advancements in our society, but we must continue to advance women’s rights by bringing our laws in line with 21st Century values," said Menendez.

  • Protecting Seniors and Medicare (Elizabeth, NJ)

    Senator Menendez visited the brand new Elizabeth Housing Authority Senior Complex. After an introduction by Elizabeth Mayor Chris Bolwage, Menendez and area seniors had the opportunity to engage in a Q and A about Medicare and the drastic changes to it that were proposed in the Republican budget.

  • Upgrading New Jersey's Water Infrastructure (Clifton, NJ)

    Senator Menendez was joined by Representative Bill Pascrell Jr., at the site where a century-old water main broke last summer, to announce bipartisan legislation to upgrade water infrastructure. They were also joined by representatives of the water-industry and members of the business community who were affected by the major pipe bursting last year.

  • Sen. Menendez Visits Absecon Mills Facility (Galloway Township, NJ)

    Senator Menendez visited Absecon Mills, a textile facility in Galloway Township that was hit by a fire in April. In less than a month the factory's nearly 100 employees were back at work and production came back on-line; largely because of the efforts of emergency responders and effective precautions taken by managers. The factory produces stronger and lighter body armor for the military as well as fabrics used in seating at Regal Cinemas, the Newark Prudential Center, and Madison Square Garden.

  • Regional College Fair (Camden, NJ)

    The Offices of U.S. Sens. Robert Menendez (D-NJ) and Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ) hosted a free financial aid forum and regional college fair at Camden Community College to provide New Jersey families with the information and resources they need to seek higher education opportunities in the region and help them address the rising cost of higher education.
