Menendez Tours Areas Devastated by Hurricane Irene (Teterboro, NJ)
Senator Robert Menendez joined the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for an aerial tour of areas affected by severe floods after Hurricane Irene. The tour included the NJ towns that were hit the hardest, including: Manville, Bound Brook, Lincoln Park, Pompton Lakes, Little Falls, Fairfield, Wayne, Paterson and Cranford. It also included a trip down to Sandy Hook and around to inland rivers – with a close look at some of the major rivers that failed - including the Passaic, Rahway, and Raritan rivers.

Menendez, Pascrell, Emergency Officials Urge Preparation for Hurricane Irene (Pompton Lakes, NJ)

Menendez Announces Sustainable States Act (Cherry Hill, NJ)
Senator Menendez was at the Camden County Parks Building to announce he will soon introduce his Sustainable States Act of 2011, which builds on the success of Sustainable Jersey’s award-winning municipal sustainability certification program. Fred Profeta, founder of Sustainable Jersey, Cherry Hill Mayor Bernie Platt, and Lori Braunstein, Director of Sustainable Cherry Hill, were also in attendance.

Menendez Attends Ribbon-Cutting for New Multi-Purpose Room for Paramus Veterans Memorial Home (Paramus, NJ)
Senator Menendez attended and delivered remarks at the ceremony to mark the opening of a 7,942 square foot addition which will contain an audiovisual room, storage area, men and women's bathroom (handicap accesible), and storage area. It will have an occupancy load of 720 people and be used for holiday parties, including a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, Bingo nights, religious services, and a weekly mass.
