Dennis Cardoza (CA18), and Congressman Pierluisi, Puerto Rico’s Resident Commissioner at a press conference with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus to urge bipartisan support to confirm Mari Carmen Aponte to the position of Ambassador of El Salvador. Amb. Aponte has served with distinction as a recess appointee.

  • Sister Approved to Travel to U.S. and Help Sick Sibling Needing Transplant (Elizabeth, NJ)

    Yarelis Bonilla will get the bone-marrow transplant she so desperately needs to fight her battle against leukemia. Senator Menendez met this brave five-year-old along with her strong family at the Beth Israel Children’s hospital in Newark to share in the news they so longed to hear: Yarelis’ sister, Giselle Bonilla Ramirez, has been approved for humanitarian parole and can finally come to the United States from El Salvador to be her sister’s donor and help in her fight for survival.

  • Fighting for Community Policing Funding (Clifton, NJ)

    Senator Robert Menendez and Congressman Bill Pascrell today visited Clifton, New Jersey, to continue their fight to keep federal funding for local community policing efforts. Menendez and Pascrell were joined by Clifton Mayor James Anzaldi and Police Chief Gary Giardina at the Clifton Police Department for the press conference.

    Senator Menendez (D-NJ) joined Italian American community members and others for the First Annual Mother Cabrini Celebration. Menendez was the keynote at the event in honor of the Patroness of Immigrants, which was held at the St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Hillside.

  • Dedication of Paterson NJ Park as America’s 397th National Park (Paterson, NJ)

    Today U.S. Senator Robert Menendez joined Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, U.S. Senator Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ), Congressman Bill Pascrell, Jr. and National  Park Service Director Jon Jarvis at Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park for a signing ceremony to officially dedicate the site as the United States’ 397th National Park.

  • Super Committee Must End Super Subsidies to Big Oil, says Menendez, Democrats (Washington DC)

    Senator Robert Menendez joined House and Senate Democrats and leaders of conservation groups to call on the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction – the Super Committee – to end subsidies for Big Oil as part of any proposal to reduce the nation’s deficit.
