Senator Bob Menendez along with other New Jersey officials are looking to the Federal Transit Administration’s New Starts program to approve funding for a quarter-mile extension to the Hudson Bergen Light Rail Line.

Menendez said transit lines are being built all over the country under New Starts as New Jersey sits idly.

“We’re talking about a program that’s investing upwards of $2 billion of federal funding in infrastructure projects,” said Menendez.  “New Jersey can’t afford to be cut out of a $2 billion pie.”
