The Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) and Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) programs are administered by the Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

“These federal grants will help ensure New Jersey fire departments are adequately staffed and our firefighters properly equipped to protect both themselves and the communities they serve,” said Sen. “I’m grateful that these resources are being directed to our state and I’ll keep working to make sure this support is available to all New Jersey fire departments.”
