U.S. Sen. Bob Menendez and Rep. Donald Norcross, D-1st of Camden, penned a letter signed by Sen. Cory Booker and all but one of New Jersey’s 12 House members to Acting Secretary of Defense Patrick Shanahan on Wednesday expressing “strong objection” to the president’s recent emergency declaration and the White House plan to repurpose more than $6 billion in military funding to help build new barriers along the U.S.-Mexico border.

Joining Menendez and Norcross on the letter were fellow South Jersey representatives Andy Kim, D-3rd of Bordentown Township, and Jeff Van Drew, D-1st of Dennis. Kim, Norcross and Van Drew each represent parts of Burlington County.
