Bayonne honors those who lost their lives 16 years ago today

BAYONNE -- One World Trade Center is easy to spot from most of the towns and cities in Hudson County, and for many it exemplifies the grandeur of the Manhattan skyline.

But it is also a daily reminder of the horrific events that took place 16 years ago today.

"It is a somber anniversary: a day for remembrance and a day for reflection," Sen. Bob Menendez said. "We remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost, 700 of New Jersey, and many of Bayonne... We remember the men and women so cruelly taken from us and this world because they meant the world to their families, children, friends and communities."
