NEWARK - U.S. Senators Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ) and Robert Menendez (D-NJ) today announced that the New Jersey Department of Family Development will receive more than $11 million to match Sandy victims with individual case managerstohelpresidentsidentify andreceiveavailableaid. The funding is provided through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Disaster Case ManagementProgram.
"New Jersey familiesare working hard to recover from Sandy, and this federal funding will help ensure that they have access toall theresources they need,"said Senator Lautenberg, Vice Chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee that funds FEMA."It can be difficult for families to navigate the resources available to them while they're getting back on their feet, andthis federal program will help ensure that Sandy victims have access topersonalizedexpert guidanceto help get them through this difficult time."

This federal funding supports FEMA case managers that will work one-on-one with disaster survivors and facilitate access to availablefederal, state, and privateresources. Case managers assess the victim's needs, develop a recovery plan, and help ensure that the individual receives the support available to them.
