Citizenship Rutgers is a series of free naturalization application assistance drives. The project provides legal permanent residents (LPRs) access to free individual consultations with experienced immigration attorneys; knowledgeable, language appropriate application assistance; passport-sized photos; document certification; citizenship test questions and ESL referrals. The project was created to bring citizenship application assistance to New Jersey’s 400,000+ legal permanent residents.

• Reside in the United States as a permanent resident
for 5 years (3 years if living with and married to the
same U.S. citizen)
• Remain in the United States for at least half of the
5 or 3 year period
• Be at least 18 years old

• Green card and all passports since obtaining
green card
• Home addresses for the last 5 or 3 years
• Children’s information (date of birth, A#, addresses)*
• School/Employment history for the last 5 or 3 years
• Marital history/criminal history*
