Senator Menendez Speaks In Favor of the DISCLOSE Act on the Senate Floor
July 27, 2010
The DISCLOSE Act prohibits foreign-controlled corporations, government contractors and companies that have received government assistance from making political expenditures. It would require corporations, unions, and other organizations that make political expenditures to disclose their donors and stand by their ads. More specifically, it calls upon corporate CEOs to appear during the ads their corporation sponsors. Furthermore, the DISCLOSE Act compels both corporations and advocacy groups that make political expenditures to create easy-to-track campaign accounts.
