WASHINGTON, DC -- U.S. Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) today released the following statement on the bombing in Ankara:

"I am appalled by this brazen terror attack on the United States Embassy in Ankara, Turkey and saddened by the loss of life. We appreciate the support we are receiving from Turkish authorities in responding to the attack and anticipate working closely with them to determine the party or parties responsible for this act of terror. The Senate Foreign Relations Committee will continue to work with the Department of State to determine what additional steps can be taken and what resources are necessary to ensure the protection of our missions and safety of our personnel overseas."
