NEWARK, NJ - Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) released the following statement in observance of Rosh Hashanah.

"Tonight marks the beginning of Rosh Hashanah, a period of self-reflection for the year that was just completed and a time of contemplation for the year that is beginning. As families, friends, and neighbors gather tonight to welcome the holiday, let this year be defined by peace and prosperity, hope and discovery for the Jewish community here in New Jersey, throughout the United States, in Israel, and beyond. It is customary to wish Jews celebrating Rosh Hashana a 'sweet, happy, and healthy new year' and I can think of no more poignant expression of hope that all faiths can celebrate and embrace, especially now. From my family to yours, shanah tovah."
